Contoura Device for Weight Loss FAQ
1. Is it Painful?
This is a very common question we get about the Contoura device for weight loss and the answer is no! During the procedure, we use a vacuum-like device to administer radiofrequency to the treated site. When we do so, you may feel like a light tugging and pulling sensation. This shouldn’t cause too much discomfort. You will also feel a bit of warmth, but again, this shouldn’t be too much to handle.
2. When Will I See Results?
Treatment is administered in a series of 30-minute sessions. For the best results, it’s important to complete the series. On average, you will see results two to four months after receiving treatment. To maintain results, be sure to eat healthily and exercise regularly.
3. Is it Right for Me?
Body contouring with the Contoura device for weight loss doesn’t require surgery or laser treatment, which makes it a good option for many people. However, if you are pregnant, nursing, smoke regularly, use a defibrillator or pacemaker, suffer from aneurysms, or are younger than 25, treatment with the Contoura device is not right for you. Body contouring is also not the answer if you are using it as the only weight loss method. While body contouring works well for that, it cannot substitute dieting and exercise altogether.
The Contoura device can help patients between the ages of 25 and 65 and is great for both males and females. When you set up a free consultation with us, we’ll determine if you’re a good fit for body contouring.
4. What is Recovery Like?
Because the procedure is minimally invasive, doesn’t require surgery, and doesn’t use laser treatment, there is virtually no recovery time. You can return to work and normal activities immediately after. You may feel some tenderness and see some redness around the treated site for a few hours after, but this should be minimal and subside quickly.
5. How Long Does it Take?
Each session takes about 30 minutes. The number of sessions you need will depend on your situation.
Cellulite Reduction FAQ
1. Is Cellulite Permanent?
Most evidence points toward cellulite being permanent, meaning that once you have it, it can be incredibly hard to get rid of. However, our treatment can help reduce the amount of cellulite you have thus reducing its appearance.
2. Will Weight Loss Help Reduce Cellulite?
Weight loss can help reduce the appearance of cellulite but while it can help some, you might not always see results. Other treatment combined with weight loss will help you see the results you desire.
3. What Does Cellulite Treatment Involve?
At El Paso Body & Skin Care, we treat cellulite using the Contoura machine. The Contoura machine can be used to treat cellulite in your abdomen, lower back, legs, thighs, hips, and buttocks. The treatment is minimally invasive, painless, quick, and easy. To maintain results, it’s important to eat healthy, exercise, and avoid high-stress situations, since cellulite can form as a side effect of stress.
Fat Loss FAQ
1. Do I Need to Exercise and Eat Right Post-Procedure?
A common misconception about fat loss procedures is that they’re a cure-all for fat and weight gain, but this isn’t the case. While the Contoura machine can help you significantly, it’s only as effective as you are healthy and active.
2. Is This Procedure Painful?
Whether you are receiving treatment from the Contoura machine for fat loss or skin tightening, the procedure will be relatively the same across the board, meaning you’ll experience little to no pain, will have virtually no recovery time, and should be good to return to normal activities the same day.
3. Why Does Fat Form?
Fat can form from poor diet, lack of exercise, genetics, disease, and a number of other reasons. While diet and exercise can help keep it at bay, there are certain areas where fat tends to deposit and it can be incredibly hard to get rid of. This is where our treatment can help beyond diet and exercise alone.
Skin Tightening FAQ
1. How Does Radio Frequency Tighten Skin?
The radiofrequency reaches the dermis, which is the layer below the outermost layer of the skin (the epidermis). It heats collagen fibres there, which causes them to contract and condense, modifying them. Then, during the healing process, new collagen fibres are formed, making your skin tighter and healthier.
2. Is it Painful?
No. You may feel mild discomfort during, but it should not be too much pain.
3. Will I Experience any Side Effects?
You may experience temporary tenderness at the application site, but other than that, you shouldn’t feel any side effects after the procedure.
4. What Does the Recovery Look Like?
Since the procedure requires no surgery or lasers, there is no recovery time. You can resume normal activities immediately after.

4. How do Dermal Fillers Work?
Dermal fillers work by plumping areas of your skin, which make your lips fuller, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and plump your cheeks to avoid sagging.
5. What Are Some Common Treatment Areas?
Common treatment areas include the lips, cheeks, chin, and nasolabial folds. Dermal fillers can also be used on marionette lines.
6. How Long Does Treatment Last?
On average, results last between six and twelve months. For the best results, it’s ideal to receive treatment regularly.
7. Is Treatment Painful?
Dermal fillers are applied via injections so they can be kind of painful. However, JUVÉDERM® laces their injections with Lidocaine, which can help reduce pain and sensitivity in treated areas.
Chemical Peels FAQ
1. What is a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is a non-invasive way of getting beautiful skin. It’s a chemical that is applied to your face as a liquid that later dries and peels off. When it peels off, it removes layers of dead skin, revealing healthier and more youthful skin.
2. How Long Do Chemical Peels Last?
It depends on how well you take care of your skin. They can last months, even years.
3. What Are Possible Side Effects/Risks of Chemical Peels?
After the procedure, you may experience redness, itchiness, and increased sensitivity to sunlight. Some more serious risks include infection, scarring, and allergic reactions.
4. What Are the Benefits of Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels can help you get youthful glowing skin without the need for surgery, injections, or lasers, making it an easier procedure to undergo.
1. Is Botox Painful?
You may feel a slight pinch as Botox is injected. To ease the pain, we can apply a topical numbing gel or ice the area down to numb it.
2. Does Botox Work?
Yes. Botox targets wrinkles and fine lines at their source: muscle movement. By temporarily reducing muscle activity in between your brows and around your eyes, it reduces the appearance of wrinkles.
3. Does Botox Freeze Your Face?
No, this is just a myth that has grown in popularity on the internet. Since Botox is “technique sensitive,” you shouldn’t have to worry about showing expression on your face.
4. How Long Does Botox Last?
This depends on the person. We will perform an analysis of your face to help you determine the results and goals of these procedures.
5. Are There Any Side Effects?
After receiving treatment, you may feel sore at the application site. This should disappear quickly. Other rare and serious side effects that can happen include eyelid drooping and eyelid swelling. These are incredibly rare, but if they happen, contact your doctor right away.
6. What Does Recovery Look Like for Botox?
There is virtually no downtime after Botox. You can receive it during your lunch break and then return to work right after. We will discuss any recovery plans you may need.
7. How Many Injections Will I Need?
For crow’s feet, you will receive three injections around your eyes and for frown lines, you will receive five injections in your forehead.
